Na química orgânica, os grupos funcionais são grupos específicos de átomos ou ligações dentro de moléculas que são responsáveis pelas reações químicas características dessas moléculas. O mesmo grupo funcional sofrerá a mesma reação química ou similar, independentemente do tamanho da molécula da qual é parte. No entanto, sua reatividade relativa pode ser modificada por grupos funcionais próximos.
