Mikhail Gorbachev
Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachev (russo: Михаил Сергеевич Горбачёв, tr. Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachyov, IPA: (ouvir), nascido em 2 de março de 1931) é um ex-estadista soviético. Ele era o sétimo e último líder da União Soviética, tendo servido como Secretário Geral do Partido Comunista da União Soviética desde 1985 até 1991, e como chefe de Estado do país desde 1988 até a sua dissolução em 1991 (intitulado Presidente do Presidium do Soviet Supremo de 1988 a 1989, como Presidente do Soviet Supremo de 1989 a 1990, e como Presidente da União Soviética de 1990 a 1991). Ele foi o único secretário geral da história da União Soviética a ter nascido depois da Revolução de Outubro. Gorbachev nasceu no Krai de Stavropol em uma família camponesa ucraniana-russa, e em sua adolescência operada em colheitadeiras em fazendas coletivas. Graduou-se na Universidade Estadual de Moscou em 1955 com diploma de direito. Enquanto ele estava na universidade, ele se juntou ao Partido Comunista, e logo se tornou muito ativo dentro dele.
