Interface gráfica do usuário
Na computação, uma interface de usuário gráfica é um tipo de interface que permite aos usuários interagir com dispositivos eletrônicos através de ícones gráficos e indicadores visuais, como notação secundária, em oposição a interfaces baseadas em texto, rótulos de comando digitados ou navegação de texto. As GUIs foram introduzidas em reação à curva de aprendizado íngreme percebida das interfaces de linha de comando, que exigem que os comandos sejam digitados no teclado. As ações em uma GUI geralmente são realizadas através da manipulação direta dos elementos gráficos. Além de computadores, as GUIs podem ser encontradas em dispositivos portáteis, como leitores de MP3, players de mídia portáteis, dispositivos de jogos e equipamentos domésticos, de escritório e industriais menores. O termo "GUI" tende a não ser aplicado a outros tipos de interfaces de baixa resolução com resoluções de exibição, como jogos de vídeo ou não restritos a telas planas, como displays volumétricos porque o termo está restrito ao escopo da exibição bidimensional telas capazes de descrever informações genéricas, na tradição da pesquisa em informática no PARC.
