Halftone
Halftone é a técnica de reprografia que simula imagens de tom contínuo através do uso de pontos, variando em tamanho, em forma ou em espaçamento, gerando assim um efeito semelhante ao gradiente. "Halftone" também pode ser usado para se referir especificamente à imagem que é produzida por este processo. Onde a imagem de tom contínua contém uma gama infinita de cores ou cinzas, o processo de meio-tom reduz as reproduções visuais a uma imagem que é impressa com apenas uma cor de tinta, em pontos de tamanho diferente. Esta reprodução depende de uma ilusão óptica básica - que esses pequenos pontos de meio-tom são misturados em tons suaves pelo olho humano.
