Historiografia
A historiografia refere-se ao estudo da metodologia dos historiadores e ao desenvolvimento da "história" como disciplina e também a um conjunto de trabalhos históricos sobre um assunto particular. Os estudiosos discutem a historiografia topicamente - como a "historiografia do Império Britânico", a "historiografia do islamismo primitivo" ou a "historiografia da China" - bem como diferentes abordagens e gêneros, como a história política ou a história social. A partir do século XIX, com a ascensão da história acadêmica, desenvolveu-se um conjunto de literatura historiográfica.
