O QUE SIGNIFICA INTERNATIONAL GOTHIC EM INGLÊS
Gótico internacional
O gótico internacional é uma fase da arte gótica que se desenvolveu em Borgonha, Boêmia, França e no norte da Itália no final do século 14 e início do século XV. Em seguida, espalhou-se amplamente em toda a Europa Ocidental, daí o nome para o período, que foi introduzido pelo historiador de arte francês Louis Courajod no final do século XIX. Neste período, artistas e obras portáteis, como manuscritos iluminados, viajaram amplamente por todo o continente, criando uma estética comum entre a realeza e maior nobreza e reduzindo consideravelmente a variação dos estilos nacionais entre as obras produzidas para as elites cortesanas. As principais influências foram o norte da França, o ducado da Borgonha, a corte imperial em Praga e a Itália. Casamentos reais como o de Richard II da Inglaterra e Anne of Bohemia também ajudaram a espalhar o estilo. Inicialmente, era um estilo de sofisticação cortesã, mas versões mais robustas se espalham para a arte encomendada pelas classes mercantes emergentes e a nobreza menor.
