Processo isotérmico
Um processo isotérmico é uma mudança de um sistema em que a temperatura permanece constante: ΔT = 0. Isso geralmente ocorre quando um sistema está em contato com um reservatório térmico externo e a mudança ocorre lentamente o suficiente para permitir que o sistema se ajuste continuamente a a temperatura do reservatório através da troca de calor. Em outras palavras, em um processo isotérmico, o valor ΔT = 0 e, portanto, ΔU = 0, mas Q ≠ 0, enquanto que em um processo adiabático, ΔT ≠ 0, mas Q = 0.
