Justiniano II
Justiniano II, sob o nome de Rhinotmetos ou Rhinotmetus, foi o último imperador bizantino da dinastia heráclica, reinando de 685 a 695 e novamente de 705 a 711. Justiniano II era um governante ambicioso e apaixonado que desejava restaurar o Império às suas antigas glórias , mas ele respondeu mal a qualquer oposição a sua vontade e carecia da delicadeza de seu pai, Constantino IV. Conseqüentemente, ele gerou enorme oposição ao seu reinado, e resultou em sua deposição em 695 em um levante popular, e ele só voltou ao trono em 705 com a ajuda de um exército búlgaro e eslavo. Seu segundo reinado foi ainda mais despótico do que o primeiro, e também viu seu eventual derrube em 711, abandonado pelo exército que o ligou antes de matá-lo.
