Quimógrafo
Um kymograph é um dispositivo que oferece uma representação gráfica da posição espacial ao longo do tempo em que um eixo espacial representa tempo. Ele basicamente consiste em um tambor giratório enrolado com uma folha de papel em que uma caneta se move para trás e para trás registrando as mudanças percebidas de fenômenos, como movimento ou pressão. Foi inventado pelo fisiologista alemão Carl Ludwig na década de 1840 e encontrou seu primeiro uso como meio para controlar intrusivamente a pressão arterial e encontrou várias aplicações no campo da medicina. Seu principal uso foi medir fenômenos como mudanças nas contrações musculares ou outros processos fisiológicos, incluindo sons de fala. Os Kymographs também foram usados para medir a pressão atmosférica, as vibrações do tenaz e o funcionamento das máquinas a vapor.
