Hidrômetro
Um hidrómetro é um instrumento usado para medir a gravidade específica de líquidos; isto é, a proporção da densidade do líquido para a densidade da água. Um hidrómetro é geralmente feito de vidro e consiste em uma haste cilíndrica e uma lâmpada ponderada com mercúrio ou tiro de chumbo para fazê-lo flutuar em posição vertical. O líquido a testar é vertido em um recipiente alto, muitas vezes um cilindro graduado, e o hidrómetro é baixado suavemente no líquido até flutuar livremente.
