O QUE SIGNIFICA PHONEMICS EM INGLÊS
Fonologia
A fonologia é um ramo da linguística preocupada com a organização sistemática dos sons nas línguas. Tradicionalmente se concentrou principalmente no estudo dos sistemas de fonemas em linguagens particulares, mas também pode abranger qualquer análise lingüística, quer a um nível abaixo da palavra ou em todos os níveis de linguagem onde o som seja considerado estruturado para transmitir o significado linguístico. A fonologia também inclui o estudo de sistemas organizacionais equivalentes em linguagens de sinais. A palavra fonologia também pode se referir ao sistema fonológico de um determinado idioma. Este é um dos sistemas fundamentais que um idioma é considerado como, como sua sintaxe e seu vocabulário. A fonologia muitas vezes se distingue da fonética. Enquanto a fonética diz respeito à produção física, à transmissão acústica e à percepção dos sons da fala, a fonologia descreve a forma como os sons funcionam dentro de um determinado idioma ou entre os idiomas para codificar o significado.
