Fotolitografia
A fotolitografia, também denominada litografia óptica ou litografia UV, é um processo usado em microfabricação para modelar partes de uma película fina ou o volume de um substrato. Ele usa luz para transferir um padrão geométrico de uma fotomask para um "fotorresistente" químico sensível à luz, ou simplesmente "resistir", no substrato. Uma série de tratamentos químicos, então, grava o padrão de exposição, ou permite a deposição de um novo material no padrão desejado, o material embaixo da foto resistir. Por exemplo, em circuitos integrados complexos, uma bolacha CMOS moderna passará pelo ciclo fotolitográfico até 50 vezes. A fotolitografia compartilha alguns princípios fundamentais com a fotografia, na medida em que o padrão na resistência à corrosão é criado expondo-a à luz, diretamente ou com uma imagem projetada usando uma máscara óptica. Este procedimento é comparável a uma versão de alta precisão do método utilizado para fazer placas de circuito impresso. Os estágios subseqüentes no processo têm mais em comum com a gravura que com a impressão litográfica.
