Televisão de acesso público
A televisão de acesso público é tradicionalmente uma forma de mídia de massa não comercial onde o público em geral pode criar programas de televisão de conteúdo que são difundidos através de canais especiais de TV a cabo. A televisão de acesso público foi criada nos Estados Unidos entre 1969 e 1971 pela Comissão Federal de Comunicações (FCC), sob o presidente Dean Burch, com base no trabalho pioneiro e advocacia de George Stoney, Red Burns (Centro de mídia alternativo e Sidney Dean (City Club de NY). A televisão de acesso público é muitas vezes agrupada com canais de televisão públicos, educacionais e de acesso governamental, pelo acrônimo PEG. Os canais PEG normalmente estão disponíveis apenas em sistemas de televisão por cabo.
