Repolarização
Na neurociência, a repolarização refere-se à mudança no potencial de membrana que retorna o potencial da membrana a um valor negativo após a fase de despolarização de um potencial de ação ter mudado anteriormente o potencial da membrana para um valor positivo; A fase de repolarização geralmente retorna o potencial da membrana de volta ao potencial da membrana em repouso. A repolarização resulta do movimento de íons de potássio carregados positivamente para fora da célula. Normalmente, a fase de repolarização de um potencial de ação resulta em hiperpolarização, alcançando um potencial de membrana que é mais negativo do que o potencial de repouso. A repolarização geralmente leva vários milésimos de segundo.
