Scintillometer
Um scintillometer é um dispositivo científico usado para medir pequenas flutuações do índice de refração do ar causado por variações de temperatura, umidade e pressão. Consiste em um transmissor de onda óptica ou de rádio e um receptor em ambas as extremidades de um caminho de propagação atmosférica. O receptor detecta e avalia as flutuações de intensidade do sinal transmitido, chamado cintilação. A magnitude das flutuações do índice de refração é geralmente medida em termos de Cn ^ 2, a constante da estrutura das flutuações do índice de refração, que é a amplitude espectral das flutuações do índice de refração na subtensão inercial da turbulência.
