Um livro de bolso é um tipo de livro caracterizado por uma capa grossa de papel ou cartão, e muitas vezes mantido junto com cola em vez de pontos ou grampos. Em contrapartida, os livros de capa dura ou hardback estão ligados com papelão coberto de pano; embora mais caros, os hardbacks são mais duráveis. Livros baratos ligados em papel existiram desde pelo menos o século 19 em formas como panfletos, revistas amarelas, romances de moeda de dez centavos e novelas de aeroportos. Os livros de bolso mais modernos são "livros de bolso em massa" ou "livros de bolso comerciais". As edições de livros em brochura são emitidas quando um editor decide lançar um livro em um formato de baixo custo. O papel barato, as ligações coladas e a falta de uma capa dura contribuem para o baixo custo inerente das brochuras.
