A tartrazina é um produto químico orgânico sintético. É solúvel em água e possui uma absorvância máxima em uma solução aquosa a 427 ± 2 nm. A tartrazina é uma cor comumente usada em todo o mundo, principalmente para amarelo, mas também pode ser usada com o Azul Brilhante FCF (FD \u0026 C Blue 1, E133) ou Verde S (E142) para produzir vários tons verdes.
