Taxa de transferência
Nas redes de comunicação, como Ethernet ou rádio por pacotes, a taxa de transferência ou o rendimento da rede é a taxa de entrega bem sucedida de mensagens através de um canal de comunicação. Estes dados podem ser entregues através de um link físico ou lógico, ou passar por um determinado nó de rede. O throughput geralmente é medido em bits por segundo, e às vezes em pacotes de dados por segundo ou pacotes de dados por intervalo de tempo. O throughput do sistema ou a taxa de transferência agregada é a soma das taxas de dados que são entregues a todos os terminais em uma rede. A taxa de transferência é essencialmente sinônimo de consumo de largura de banda digital; pode ser analisado matematicamente por meio da teoria da fila, onde a carga em pacotes por unidade de tempo é indicada taxa de chegada λ, e a taxa de transferência em pacotes por unidade de tempo é indicada taxa de partida μ.
