O titânio é um elemento químico com o símbolo Ti e o número atômico 22. É um metal de transição lustroso com uma cor prateada, baixa densidade e alta resistência. É altamente resistente à corrosão na água do mar, aqua regia e cloro. O titânio foi descoberto em Cornwall, Grã-Bretanha, por William Gregor em 1791 e nomeado por Martin Heinrich Klaproth para os titãs da mitologia grega.
