Funções trigonométricas
Em matemática, as funções trigonométricas são funções de um ângulo. Relacionam os ângulos de um triângulo ao comprimento de seus lados. As funções trigonométricas são importantes no estudo de triângulos e na modelagem de fenômenos periódicos, entre muitas outras aplicações. As funções trigonométricas mais familiares são o seno, o coseno e a tangente. No contexto do círculo unitário padrão, onde um triângulo é formado por um raio originário da origem e fazendo algum ângulo com o eixo x, o seno do ângulo dá o comprimento do componente y do triângulo, o coseno dá o comprimento do componente x, e a função tangente dá a inclinação. As funções trigonométricas são comumente definidas como relações de dois lados de um triângulo direito que contém o ângulo e podem ser definidas de forma equivalente como os comprimentos de vários segmentos de linha de um círculo unitário.
