Troilus
Troilus é um personagem lendário associado à história da Guerra de Tróia. A primeira referência sobrevivente a ele está na Ilíada de Homero, que se acredita ter sido composta por bardos e cantada no final do século 9 ou 8 aC. Na mitologia grega, Troilus é um jovem príncipe troiano, um dos filhos do rei Príamo e Hecuba. As profecias ligam o destino de Troilo ao de Tróia e então ele é emboscado e assassinado por Aquiles. Sophocles foi um dos escritores para contar esse conto. Também foi um tema popular entre os artistas da época. Nas versões medieval e renacentista da legenda da Europa Ocidental, Troilus é o mais jovem dos cinco filhos legítimos de Prále por Hecuba. Em uma adição popular à história, originária do século 12, Troilus apaixona-se por Cressida, cujo pai desertou para os gregos.
