Leon Trotsky
Leon Trotsky (russo: Лев Давидович Троцкий; pronunciado (ouvir), nascido Lev Davidovich Bronshtein, 7 de novembro de 1879 - 21 de agosto de 1940) foi um revolucionário e teórico marxista russo, político soviético e fundador e primeiro líder do Exército Vermelho. Trotsky foi inicialmente apoiante da facção menhevik internacionalista do Partido Trabalhista Social Democrata da Rússia. Ele se juntou aos bolcheviques imediatamente antes da Revolução de outubro de 1917 e, eventualmente, se tornou um líder dentro do Partido. Durante os primeiros dias da União Soviética, ele serviu primeiro como Comissário do Povo para Relações Exteriores e depois como fundador e comandante do Exército Vermelho como Comissário do Povo dos Assuntos Navais e Militares. Ele foi uma figura importante na vitória bolchevique na Guerra Civil Russa (1918-23). Ele também foi um dos primeiros membros do Politburo.
