O Dia da Vitória na Europa, geralmente conhecido como V-E Day, Dia da VE, ou simplesmente V Day foi o feriado público celebrado em 8 de maio de 1945 para marcar a aceitação formal pelos Aliados da Segunda Guerra Mundial da renúncia incondicional da Alemanha nazista às suas forças armadas. Isso marcou o fim da Segunda Guerra Mundial na Europa. Em 30 de abril, Adolf Hitler, o líder nazista, cometeu suicídio durante a Batalha de Berlim. A rendição da Alemanha, portanto, foi autorizada por seu sucessor, Reichspräsident Karl Dönitz. A administração liderada por Dönitz era conhecida como o governo de Flensburg.
