Espectro visível
O espectro visível é a porção do espectro eletromagnético que é visível para o olho humano. A radiação eletromagnética nesta faixa de comprimentos de onda é chamada de luz visível ou simplesmente de luz. Um olho humano típico responderá a comprimentos de onda de cerca de 390 a 700 nm. Em termos de frequência, isso corresponde a uma faixa na proximidade de 430-790 THz. O espectro, no entanto, não contém todas as cores que os olhos humanos e o cérebro podem distinguir. As cores não saturadas, como as variações rosa ou roxas, como a magenta, estão ausentes, por exemplo, porque elas podem ser feitas apenas por uma combinação de múltiplos comprimentos de onda.
