Volgograd (russo: Волгоград, IPA: (escute)), anteriormente Tsaritsyn (russo: Царицын (ajuda · info)), 1589-1925 e Stalingrad (russo: Сталинград (ajuda · info)), 1925-1961, é uma importante cidade industrial e o centro administrativo do Oblast de Volgograd, na Rússia. Tem 80 quilômetros (50 mi) de comprimento, norte a sul. Está situado na margem ocidental do rio Volga. A população é 1.021.215 (Censo de 2010); 1.011.417 (Censo de 2002); 1.022.578 (Censo de 1989). A cidade tornou-se famosa por sua resistência, e pelo extenso dano físico e mortalidade que sofreu, durante a Batalha de Stalingrado contra o Exército alemão na Segunda Guerra Mundial. A partir de 2013, durante nove dias todos os anos, a cidade pode ser oficialmente referida como "Stalingrado". Há um debate na cidade sobre se a cidade deve ser renomeada permanentemente "Stalingrado", o presidente Vladimir Putin expressou que tal movimento deve ser precedido por um referendo local.
