Windhoek (/vɪnt.hʊk/ VINT-huuk, alemão: Windhuk (ajuda · info); Khoekhoe: | Aiǁgams; Otjiherero: Otjomuise) é a capital e maior cidade da República da Namíbia. Está localizado no centro da Namíbia, na área do planalto de Khomas Highland, a cerca de 1.700 metros (5.600 pés) acima do nível do mar. A população de Windhoek em 2012 era 322.500 e crescia continuamente devido a um influxo de toda a Namíbia. A cidade desenvolveu-se no local de uma primavera permanente conhecida pelas comunidades pastorais indígenas. Desenvolveu-se rapidamente depois que Jonker Afrikaner, capitão do Orlam estabeleceu-se aqui em 1840 e construiu uma igreja de pedra para sua comunidade.
