फलित ज्योतिष के अनुसार कुछ विशिष्ट
दिनों में कुछ विशिष्ट दिशाओं में काल का वास जो कुछ
विशेष योगिनियों के योग के कारण माना जाता है ।
विशेष— जिस दिन जिस दिशा में कुछ विशिष्ट योगिनियों के
योग के कारण इस प्रकार काल का वास ओर दिकशूल माना
जाता है, उस दिन उस दिशा की ओर यात्रा करना बहुत ही
अशुभ और हानिकराक माना जाता है । कहते हैं, दिकशूल
में यात्रा करने से मनेरथ कभी सिद्ध नहीं होता, आर्थिक
हानि होती है, कोई न कोई रोग हो जाता है, और यहाँ तक
कि कभी कभी यात्री की मृत्य भी हो जाती है । निम्नलिखित
दिशाओं में निम्नलिखित वारों को दिकशूल माना जाता है—
पश्चिम की और शुक्र और रविवार को
उत्तर " " मंगल " बूधवार को
पूर्व " " शनि " सोमवार को
दक्षिण " " बृहस्पति वार को
किसी किसी के मत से बुध और बृहस्पतिवार को दक्षिण की
ओर, बृहस्पतिवार को चारों कोणों की ओर, रवि तथा
शुक्रवार को पश्चिम दिशा की ओर शूल होता है । पहले और
प्रधान मत के संबंध में यह श्लोक है—'शनौ चन्द्रे त्यजेत् पूर्वम्,
दक्षिणस्याम् दिशौ गुरौ । सूर्य शुक्रे पश्चिमाशाम्, बुधे भौमे
तथोत्तरे ।' लोगों ने एक चौपाई भी बना ली है जो इस
प्रकार है—सोम सनीचर पुरब न चालू । मंगल बूध उत्तर
दिस कालू । आदित शुक्र पश्चिम दिस राहु । बीफै दछिन
लंक दिस दाहू ।
