Testis

A glândula ou testículo é a estrutura localizada em ambos os lados do pênis a partir dos órgãos reprodutores masculinos. As glândulas têm tarefas como secreção de hormônio de testosterona, produção de esperma e desenvolvimento de algumas características físicas específicas para homens. As duas glândulas esquerda e direita localizadas no lado esquerdo e direito do escroto são parte dos canais de esperma e contêm um grande número de estruturas vasculares. O escroto é uma característica muito importante em termos de manutenção da função espermática. As células de esperma são afetadas negativamente pelas mudanças de temperatura e devem estar em um ambiente de cerca de 2 graus inferior à temperatura corporal, a fim de desempenhar o melhor desempenho possível. É por isso que está fora do corpo. O calor dentro do tronco é inferior ao calor do corpo e encolhe no frio para evitar a perda de calor. Pelo contrário, aquece para impedir que os espermatozóides sejam expostos a calor excessivo. Embora os testículos tenham aproximadamente o mesmo tamanho, eles estão estruturalmente localizados ligeiramente abaixo do lado esquerdo do testículo esquerdo. Cada testículo possui canais de esperma pequenos e altamente curvos.

Sperm hücreleri ısı değişikliklerinden olumsuz etkilenirler ve işlevlerini en iyi şekilde yerine getirebilmeleri için vücut ısısından yaklaşık 2 derece daha düşük bir ortamda bulunmaları gerekir. Torbanın vücut dışında bulunmasının nedeni budur. Torbanın içindeki ısı vücut ısısından daha düşüktür ve soğukta büzüşerek ısı kaybını önler. Sıcakta ise aksine sperm hücrelerinin aşırı ısıya maruz kalmalarını önlemek için gevşer. Testisler yaklaşık aynı büyüklükte olmalarına karşın yapısal olarak sol testis sağdakine göre biraz daha aşağıda yer alır. Her testis içinde küçük ve oldukça kıvrımlı sperm kanalcıkları bulunur.
