Un adaptor sau un adaptor este un dispozitiv care convertește atributele unui dispozitiv sau sistem la cele ale unui alt dispozitiv sau sistem incompatibil. Termenul este adesea folosit pentru a se referi la adaptoarele AC. Aceste adaptoare se vor încălzi prin transformarea curentului alternativ la curentul direct, dar sunt sigure pentru mediu și pot rezista la luni de activitate continuă prelungită.
