Beneficiile angajaților și prestațiile în natură includ diverse tipuri de compensații care nu sunt remunerate salariaților, pe lângă salariile lor normale. În cazurile în care un salariat schimbă salariile pentru o altă formă de prestație, se face referire, în general, la o înțelegere privind "salariul" sau "schimbul salarial". În majoritatea țărilor, cele mai multe tipuri de beneficii ale angajaților sunt impozabile la cel puțin un anumit grad. Printre aceste beneficii se numără: locuințe, asigurări de grup, protecția veniturilor persoanelor cu dizabilități, prestații de pensionare, îngrijire de zi, rambursări de școlarizare, concediu medical, concediu, securitate socială, împărțirea profitului, finanțarea educației și alte beneficii specializate. Scopul beneficiilor angajaților este de a spori securitatea economică a membrilor personalului și, în acest fel, de a îmbunătăți menținerea lucrătorilor în întreaga organizație. Ca atare, este o componentă a managementului recompensei. Termenul perqs este adesea utilizat în mod colocvial pentru a se referi la acele beneficii de natură mai discreționară.
