Un pat osos este orice strat geologic sau depozit care conține oase de orice fel. Inevitabil, astfel de depozite sunt de natură sedimentară. Nu este un termen formal, ci tinde să fie folosit mai mult pentru a descrie colecții deosebit de dense. Se aplică, de asemenea, depozitelor brekociate și stalagmite pe podeaua peșterilor, care conțin în mod frecvent rămășițe osoase. Într-un sens mai restrâns, termenul este utilizat pentru a menționa anumite straturi subțiri de fragmente osoase, care apar în straturi geologice bine definite. Una dintre cele mai cunoscute dintre acestea este patul oaselor Ludlow, care se găsește la baza diadului Downton din seria Ludlow.
