Un test chi-pătrat, denumit și test chi-pătrat, este orice test de ipoteză statistică în care distribuția de eșantionare a statisticilor de testare este o distribuție chi-pătrat atunci când ipoteza nulă este adevărată. De asemenea, un test chi-pătrat este un test în care acest lucru este asimptotic adevărat, ceea ce înseamnă că distribuția de eșantionare poate fi făcută pentru a aproxima o distribuție chi-pătrat cât mai aproape de dorința de a face dimensiunea eșantionului suficient de mare.
