Avram Noam Chomsky este un lingvist american, filozof, om de știință cognitiv, logician, comentator politic și activist. Uneori descris ca "părintele lingvisticii moderne", Chomsky este, de asemenea, o figură majoră în filosofia analitică. A petrecut cea mai mare parte a carierei sale la Institutul de Tehnologie din Massachusetts, unde este în prezent profesor emerit și a scris peste 100 de cărți.
