O bomba cu cobalt este un tip teoretic de "bomba sărată": o armă nucleară concepută pentru a produce cantități mai mari de pulberi radioactive, destinate contaminării unei mari arii cu material radioactiv. Conceptul de bomba cu cobalt a fost descris inițial într-un program radio de către fizicianul Leó Szilárd la 26 februarie 1950. El a sugerat că un arsenal de bombe de cobalt ar fi capabil să distrugă toată viața umană de pe Pământ. În măsura în care este cunoscut public, nu au fost construite niciodată bombe de cobalt. Operațiunea Antler / Runda 1 test efectuată de britanici la situl Tadje din gama Maralinga din Australia, la 14 septembrie 1957, a testat o bombă folosind peleți de cobalt ca marker radiochimic pentru estimarea randamentului. Acesta a fost considerat un eșec și experimentul nu a fost repetat.
