Dialectic
Dialecticul este o metodă de argumentare pentru rezolvarea dezacordului care a fost central în filosofia europeană și indiană încă din antichitate. Cuvântul dialectic a provenit din Grecia antică și a fost făcut popular de Platon în dialogurile Socratice. Metoda dialectică este discursul între două sau mai multe persoane care dețin diferite puncte de vedere despre un subiect, care doresc să stabilească adevărul materiei, conduse de argumente argumentate. Termenul dialectică nu este sinonim cu termenul de dezbatere. În timp ce în teorie dezbaterile nu sunt neapărat investite emoțional în punctul lor de vedere, în practică, dezbaterile afișează frecvent un angajament emoțional care ar putea să nu se limiteze la judecata rațională.
