Agenția pentru Protecția Mediului din Statele Unite este o agenție a guvernului federal din SUA care a fost creată pentru a proteja sănătatea umană și mediul prin scrierea și aplicarea unor reglementări bazate pe legi adoptate de Congres. APE a fost propus de președintele Richard Nixon și a început operațiunea la 2 decembrie 1970, după ce Nixon a semnat un ordin executiv.
