Epirus / ɨpaɪərəs / este o regiune geografică și istorică din sud-estul Europei, împărțită între Grecia și Albania. Se află între Munții Pindus și Marea Ionică, care se întinde de la Golful Vlorë și Munții Acroceraunian în nord până la Golful Ambracian și orașul roman ruinat Nicopolis din sud. În prezent este împărțită între regiunea Epirus în nord-vestul Greciei și județele Gjirokastër, Vlorë și Berat în sudul Albaniei. Cel mai mare oraș din Epirus este Ioannina, sediul regiunii Epirus, cu Gjirokastër cel mai mare oraș din partea albaneză din Epirus. O regiune insulară și montană, Epirus a fost zona nord-vestică a Greciei antice. A fost locuită de triburile grecești ale Chaonilor, Molossians și Thesprotians și acasă la sanctuarul din Dodona, cel mai vechi oracol grecesc și cel mai prestigios după Delphi. Unificat într-un singur stat în 370 î.Hr. de către dinastia Aeacidae, Epirus a obținut faima în timpul domniei lui Pyrrhus din Epirus, ale cărui campanii împotriva Romei sunt originea termenului de "victorie Pyrrhic".
