Administrația pentru Alimente și Medicamente este o agenție a Departamentului de Sănătate și Servicii Umane din Statele Unite, una dintre departamentele federale federale ale Statelor Unite. FDA este responsabilă pentru protejarea și promovarea sănătății publice prin reglementarea și supravegherea siguranței alimentare, a produselor din tutun, a suplimentelor alimentare, a medicamentelor eliberate pe bază de rețetă și a medicamentelor fără prescripție medicală, vaccinurilor, biofarmaceuticelor, transfuziilor de sânge, dispozitivelor medicale, dispozitivelor emițătoare de radiații electromagnetice, cosmetice și produse veterinare.
