Prelucrarea informațiilor cognitive este schimbarea informațiilor în orice mod detectabil de către un observator. Shannon ca transformare a informațiilor latente în informații manifeste. Informațiile latentă și manifestă sunt definite prin termenii de echivocare, disipare și transformare.
