Revizuirea judiciară este doctrina în care acțiunile legislative și / sau executive sunt supuse revizuirii de către sistemul judiciar. O instanță specifică cu putere de control judiciar poate anula actele statului atunci când le consideră incompatibile cu o autoritate superioară. Revizuirea judiciară este un exemplu de verificare și echilibru într-un sistem guvernamental modern. Acest principiu este interpretat diferit în diferite jurisdicții, care au și opinii diferite asupra diferitelor ierarhii ale normelor guvernamentale. Ca urmare, procedura și sfera de aplicare a revizuirii judiciare pot fi diferite de la o țară la alta și de la un stat la altul.
