Produsul moale
O marfă moale este o marfă cum ar fi cafea, cacao, zahăr, porumb, grâu, soia și fructe. Acest termen se referă, în general, la mărfuri care sunt cultivate, mai degrabă decât minate. Produsele moi joacă un rol major pe piața futures. Acestea sunt folosite de fermierii care doresc să blocheze prețurile viitoare ale culturilor lor, de către cumpărătorii comerciali ai produselor și de investitorii speculativi care caută un profit. Uneori termenul de moale este limitat la produse care sunt identificate ca fiind în primul rând tropicale, cum ar fi cafea, cacao, zahăr, bumbac și suc de portocale. Produsele moi au fost cunoscute pentru a adopta o tendință de retrogradare până la sfârșitul anilor 1990, când au fost tranzacționate în mod activ contractele futures. Cerințele speculațiilor și investițiilor au determinat ulterior tendința comună contango.
