Ecografia medicală
Diagnosticul sonografic este o tehnică de diagnosticare bazată pe ultrasunete utilizată pentru vizualizarea structurilor interne ale corpului, inclusiv a tendoanelor, mușchilor, articulațiilor, vaselor și organelor interne pentru posibilele patologii sau leziuni. Practica de examinare a femeilor gravide folosind ultrasunete se numește sonografie obstetrică și este folosită pe scară largă. În fizică, "ultrasunetele" se referă la unde sonore cu o frecvență prea ridicată pentru a auzi oamenii. Imaginile cu ultrasunete se fac prin trimiterea unui puls de ultrasunete în țesut utilizând un traductor cu ultrasunete. Sunetul reflectă și reflectă anumite părți ale țesutului; acest ecou este înregistrat și afișat ca o imagine către operator. Multe tipuri diferite de imagini pot fi formate folosind ultrasunete.
