În științele fizice, particulele subatomice sunt particule mai mici decât atomii. Există două tipuri de particule subatomice: particule elementare care, conform teoriilor actuale, nu sunt făcute din alte particule; și particule compozite. Fizica particulelor și fizica nucleară studiază aceste particule și modul în care interacționează.
