Turing test
Testul Turing este un test al capacității unei mașini de a expune un comportament inteligent echivalent cu cel al unui om sau care nu poate fi distins de acesta. În exemplul original ilustrativ, un judecător uman se angajează în conversații în limbaj natural cu un om și o mașină proiectată să genereze performanțe care nu pot fi diferențiate de cea a unei ființe umane. Toți participanții sunt separați unul de altul. Dacă judecătorul nu poate spune în mod fiabil mașina de la om, se spune că mașina a trecut testul. Testul nu verifică capacitatea de a da răspunsul corect la întrebări; verifică cât de apropiat răspunsul seamănă cu răspunsurile tipice umane.
