Ziua victoriei în Europa, cunoscută în general ca Ziua V-E, Ziua VE sau pur și simplu V Ziua, a fost sărbătoarea națională sărbătorită la 8 mai 1945 pentru a marca acceptarea oficială de către aliații celui de-al doilea război mondial a predării necondiționate a forțelor armate de către Germania nazistă. A marcat astfel sfârșitul celui de-al doilea război mondial în Europa. La 30 aprilie, liderul nazist Adolf Hitler sa sinucis în timpul bătăliei de la Berlin. Predarea Germaniei, prin urmare, a fost autorizată de succesorul său, Reichspräsident Karl Dönitz. Administrația condusă de Dönitz era cunoscută drept guvernul de la Flensburg. Actul de predare militară a fost semnat pe 7 mai la Reims, Franța și la 8 mai la Berlin, Germania.
