Ciclul apei, cunoscut și ca ciclul hidrologic sau ciclul H2O, descrie mișcarea continuă a apei pe, deasupra și dedesubtul suprafeței Pământului. Masa apei de pe Pământ rămâne destul de constantă în timp, dar împărțirea apei în rezervoarele principale de gheață, apă dulce, apă salină și apă atmosferică variază în funcție de o gamă largă de variabile climatice. Apa se deplasează de la un rezervor la altul, cum ar fi de la râu la ocean sau de la ocean până la atmosferă, prin procesele fizice de evaporare, condensare, precipitare, infiltrare, scurgere și flux subteran. Procedând astfel, apa trece prin diferite faze: lichid, solid și gaz. Ciclul apei implică schimbul de energie, ceea ce duce la schimbări de temperatură.
