Weevers sunt 9 specii existente de pesti de familia Trachinidae, comanda Perciformes. Ele sunt de lungă durată, în principal de culoare maro și au coloane otrăvitoare pe primele lor aripioare dorsale și branhii. În timpul zilei, weevers se îngroape în nisip, arată doar ochii lor, și smulge prada pe măsură ce trece, care constă din creveți și pești mici. Weevers sunt neobișnuite în a nu avea vezică înot, la fel ca cele mai multe pești oase, și, ca urmare, chiuveta de îndată ce se opresc în mod activ de înot. Cu excepția T. cornutus din Pacificul de sud-est, toate speciile din această familie sunt limitate la estul Atlanticului. O a zecea specie, extinctă, Callipterus speciosus, este cunoscută de la Monte Bolca lagerstatte din epoca luteiană. Weevers sunt uneori folosite ca un ingredient în reteta pentru bouillabaisse. Weeversul este uneori eronat numit "fish weaver", deși cuvântul nu are legătură.
