Liberalismul este o filozofie care pune libertatea individuală ca cea mai înaltă valoare politică. O persoană care acceptă liberalismul este numită liberală. Cu toate acestea, sensul cuvântului liberal se poate schimba în funcție de contextul unei țări. Liberalismul subliniază drepturile personale și egalitatea de șanse.
