Ожог радиации - это повреждение кожи или другой биологической ткани, вызванной воздействием радиации. Наиболее распространенным типом радиационного ожога является солнечный ожог, вызванный УФ-излучением. В зависимости от энергии фотонов гамма-излучение может вызывать очень глубокие гамма-ожоги, причем внутренние ожоги 60Co являются общими. Бета-ожоги имеют тенденцию быть неглубокими, поскольку бета-частицы не могут проникать глубоко в человека; эти ожоги могут быть похожи на солнечные ожоги.
