Арианство - это нетерриториальное богословское учение, приписываемое Ариусу, христианскому пресвитеру в Александрии, Египет, относительно отношения Бога Отца к Сыну Божьему, Иисусу Христу. Арий утверждал, что Сын Божий был подчиненным сущностью для Бога-Отца. Будучи признанным еретиком Вселенским Первым Собором Никеи 325 года, Арий был впоследствии реабилитирован в 335 году на областном Первом Синоде Тира, а затем, после его смерти, снова объявил еретика на Вселенском Первом Соборе Константинополя 381. Римский Императоры Констанций II и Валенс были арианцами или полуарианами. Арианская концепция Христа заключается в том, что Сын Божий не всегда существовал, но был создан и, следовательно, отличается от Бога-Отца.
